This month was really great ever thought we have now have some problems with H1F1 vires and Haze days(if any by chance).
The concert by youth orchestra and main Chinese orchestra was really happen the most ever for young kids should have spend some times of listen to the old Chinese music.The only thing was that I end up went to the Conference Hall with my whole family for the Jazz music last Saturday right after the youth's concert last week.
The Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra(SYCO) was formed back then in 2003 and was first played in 2004 (after year later).This year SYCO's concert, Young Voice was really good but only at the end of the concert was quite messing somewhere at the end of the concert.The list of item music for the SYCO concert:

'Water of the Yellow River' is usually played on few insturments to make the waves of the Yellow Rivers while the 'Suite for Chinese String Instruments' is divided into three parts: rubato,largo and presto.The 'Sights and Sounds of China' was originally based on the folk songs: 'Little Cabbage' was a song about a boy who was mistreated by his step-mother and was longing for his mother as he missed her so much.'Green Willow' was based from the animation and folk song known as Yangzhou though it's lyric was meaningless.'Going to West Gate' is one of the folk song that featuring people from their homeland in povertised huangtu plateau were forced to leave from their town and traveling to west of the country in order to make for their living. There are three diffenent version for this song, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. One of them, Shanxi piece, was story about the couple who were unwilling to let go from each others as one of them was forced to go to the West. And the 'Gracing the Horse' is a Yunan folk song and one of the famous music in China.It was about the ridder who rids on his horse with his wipper in Yunan country side.The 'Fishermen's song of the Eastern Seas' was not only poupler folk music but also has been played this piece since 1959. This composed piece was divided into four parts: First section-Dawn, Second section-The Fishing Fleets, Third section-Wining a Battle Against the Strong Sea and Fourth section-A Happy Return with Great Harvest. These were part of the 'Fishermen's song of the Eastern Seas' and ever my dad liked this music very much.'The Phoenix' was based influence of the Chinese traditional music and was combined together with the Western music.'The New Millennium of the Dragon Year-The Sun' was comporsed for the New Millennium known as 21st Century as it was Year of the Dragon on the Chinese calender. This music was played along the traditional drums and western drums. The last piece,'The White-Haired Girl Suite' was adapted from the symphonic work of the same title, 'White-Haired Girl'. It was composed for the ballet story about a poor farmer Yang Bailao who was pressed for the payment of debts landlord Huang Shiren and could not rescue her daughter Xi'er from being taken away. This was composed of Huabei, Hebei and Shaanxi folk music. This was composed in 1974 which was during period of China's culture revolution.It was played in five movements: Smouldering Anger, The Blowing North Wind and Red Ribbon, Dachun Joining the Army, Escaping from Hell and Celebrating the Victory.Although the last piece was kind of messing somewhere but the Singapore Overturn was so far the best from the rest from the list. Beside that, the 'Sights and Sounds of China' was also very good music. At least the youths were did very well in their performation. And what else everyone should know is that the Ministy of Education(MOE) has joined in the collaboration with SCO as the part for the National Project of Excellence(NPOE) with the SYCO. Hopefully students will be identify for their talent in music so that they will able to perform in their near future.
Following the week, on last Saturday(13th June, 2009) was the Jazz You Up performated by SCO and the Jazz group from USA known as Chris Brubeck's Triple Play. This was their second time for Triple Play to play on stage together with the Chinese Orchestra. Their first performation in Singapore was really great so this time they came here to play with them again along with their poupler music such as 'Take Five' and 'Unsquare Dance'. Anyway, I was keen excited about listen to the Jazz music with orchestra so that was my first time to be there at Conference Hall.

Most of the songs were composed and/or arranged by Christ Brubeck, himself expect for the first song,"Strike Up the Band" which was originated by George Gershwin.(Eric Watson was then latter adapted to this song) "The Grasslands Rhapsody" or known as "Grassland Fantasy" was originated the Mongolia folk song Pastoral which was why they placed in with the blues and the Chinese folk song as the main music piece because of the melodious Bossa Nova theme."Blues Suite for Harmonica and Orchestra" was the played with the harmonica instulmer which plays through the mouth(by placing between the lips onto the harmonica) together with the orchestra."Trombone Concerto Movement 1-Paradise Utopia" which is played by solo trombone with aggressive, lyrical, witty and flamboyant qualities."Summer Palace" which was originated played by Hong Kong pianist, Kong Hong Wei, later adapted by local composer, Law Wai Lun for the orchestra. So far, the "Unsquare Dance" which composed by Chirs' father, Dave Brubeck, was most likely very interesting but quite rare to hear that because its unusual note sacle, 7/4 and gave alot of confuess for most audiences and dancers during the earlier days. That was why Chirs wrote the lyries for the piece as it was mix the western music with the sumbarn rhythme. "Take Five" was played by Dave's band, Dave Brubeck Quartet which was known well fro groundbreaking composition since in the 70s. With Triple Play's version, takes a completely unique featuring jaw harp as well as guitar, trombone, electric bass and harmonica. This was written by Chris' uncle, Paul Desmond, the musical.(Note sacle for the piece is 5/4). Looks like I had enjoyed myself throughout the concert till the end. I do really wish to look forware for the Chris Brubeck's Triple Play concert with the orchestra soon! ^__^

Final Fantesy:Distant Worlds(Singapore Festival Art)
For those who went to the Singapore Esplanade Concert Hall last month(22nd and 23rd of May, 2009) for the concert, should read this post this time after the Singapore Festival Arts was over and I haven't post for quite some times so this time I would like to make a REAL comman about one of the progammes of this year festival.I'm talking Final Fantesy:Distant Worlds. YES, I mean for this concert event held by Singapore Festival Art progamme.....>@<
What's the best thing about the concert night on that day was really great! Well, too bad my sister didn't book on the second day for the concert as it was already fully book so we end up bought the tickets for the first day's concert which was on Friday, 22nd of May.
That day, I went together with my sisters, Esther(older sister) and Judy(the younger sister) to the Esplanade by MRT station from Hougang(from Northeast line) to City Hall interchange(North-South line) then walked through the underpass turrnal(which is known as City Link) before reaching the Esplanade. The programme was started at 7:30 PM and my sisters wanted to buy the CD of the Final Fantesy seriers so I just went up to the second floor and waited for them for awhile.By the time they gone to the booth, there were running out of CDs so one of them had to go up to the third floor to try her luck.Before concert started, just nice she bought it in nick of time otherwise....well, some super 'kasuie' people would have gotten the CDs before her.
Never mind about that, when we went into the Concert Hall, we seated at the second top corrner just right facing the main screen and the stage.Not the one of the first floor where seats were cause this might not see clearly if you seat on the middle roll.
What really best thing about the music concert most of the music item were all based from the well known game, Final Fantesy seriers. Especially from FF7 seriers,FF8 and FF1,2 and 3.Although some music I haven't heard them before like 'Maria and Draco' from FF6 and 'Memoro de la Stono - Distant Worlds' from FF11(online ver.), I liked one of music which was really interesting.....the Chocobo item song which runs under the series of Final Fantesy. The most cool item that players would not forget was the recomposed of the same song by added into a bit of Jazz was from FF10, 'Swing de Chocobo'. OK.....most of this piece is the same old thing that's all I know about.(NOTE: don't flamed on me about this...)00;
What really surprised most of audience was that a composer from Japan was here for the concert! And that was Mr.Nobuo Uematsu. Mr Nobua or some fans called as Nobua sasen(means in greeting theme as Mr/Miss/Mrs) was not only that he could speak abit of English(which we had already forgiven him), he also down-earth person too just like us in normal life.He was just simply gentleman who happened likes to eat our locate Chicken rice after all.^^'
At the end of the show, there was on called going on and the Singapore Festival Orchestra once more played the last two items before closing end of the concert and one of them was 'One-Winged Angel' from FF7, everyone's most favour song.Just happened, Nobua sasen went up on stage to join in with rest of the choirs from Victoria Chorale and The Vocal Consort. He was not bad in singing through out the part of the song which seem to be pleause surprised.
Right after the programme, there was long quene of people at the autograph section waited for the conductor and Mr. Nobua, himself. Wow..... looked at them it seem like three of us had never see such quene before as many people were rushing out from exit door just before end the show.^_^;

SCO: Treasures of Japan
On last Friday night(17th of April,2009), my whole family and I went to the Esplanade for the Singapore Chinese Orchestra's (SCO) concert, 'Treasures of Japan'. This concert had this list of Japanese music composed by both Japanese and Chinese composers.Usuall for Japanese music, is played on type of insultments: Shakuhachi,Koto,Japanese erhu,Wadaiko(it's a kind of drum set used by the Taiko players) and other insultments.

The "Dance of the Firmament" is usuall based on the fundamental Buddhist comcept of the Five Buddhist Aphorisms(known as 'Sanskrit: Panca Skandha') which is fused into both Japanese and Chinese culture. There are shiki(Skt,rupa which is a term for all forms of matter), ju(Vedana for impressions and perceptions derived from the phenomenal world ), so(Samjna for mental conceptions and ideas of the entitles of the world ), gyo(Samskara for mental processes and volition) and shiki(Vijnana, consciousness of mind that inegrates volition). This works for three parts for the human being in Buddhist notion:body,speech and mind(known as Sin-Ku-I).
The "Monk Jianzhen Sailing Eastward" is a story based about a high priest and a teacher of Buddhist in China went down to Japan for teacher without being fuss in 733 B.C. "Hi-Ten-Yu" is a drum performation in a ritual of Japan. It was to be believed to connect heaven with earth. Usuall played by Wadaiko drums traditional. And my favour music, "Spring of Japan" which is played on Dizi together with orchestra for the unique Japanese scale to express the romantic and joyful spirit of Japanese folk and it's indescribable delightfulness. But as the programme came to the end of the concert, there was on called not once, but twice.(if I'm not wrong.....) And that Taiko soloist really know how to play that kind of such a big set of Wadaiko, I guess that not so easy to play the Japanese drum if you want to try it. He got such a big body build but quite short through I never see him for my first time. By end of the concert, it was 9:40 PM and my family wanted to have light dinner somewhere, so I went out with them after concert for dinner that late night!

SCO:Chinese Opera Meets Animation/Folklore and Legends
Since then last post, I haven't update yet due to my hoildays and house spring cleaning. But anyway, I'm going to post up the latest post now.
On 7th Feb,2009(two weeks ago), I went to Esplanade together with my parents to see the Singapore Chinese Orchestra's(SCO) performation(Chinese Opera Meets Animation). This time they were played the music together with the animation that was on the screen. Just before I went for their concert, I haven't see animation with the main orchestra on stage before so this was my first time to see that progamme.Here were the main list for the night's concert:

*NOTE:All the animation were show in flat screen during the concert including of sand painting performation.
All the intro and the interlude were went through well together with the movie screen each time before the next show started.In"The Empty City Strategem", Wei general Sima Yi leads his troops into the streets of the Shu during the period of the Three Kingdoms. Ma Su, part of Zhuge Liang's troops fail to hold the fort. Sima Yi leads his troopss in pursuit and arrives at Xi Cheng. Zhuge Liang opens his gate wide without any troops in sight and calmly plays his 'zither' at the top of the gate tower. Sima Yi suspects this to be an ambush and abandons the attack. This was based on the Beijing Opera with the same name. The main animation was simple and short.Main theme was in plain and quick-tempo with colourfully characteristics in a traditional Chinese ink brush painting.The "Dream in the Sping Chambers" was a story about Mdarm Zhang's dream that she was waiting for her husband to be returned and their intimacy in bed but he was killed during the war thus he didn't made home for her and she became a widow.This work used in 2D and 3D graphics,freeze frames and photographs for portray Beijing opera singing and movement."Wu Song Taming the Tiger" was about main charather named Wu Song who went out from his home to pay a visit his brother.He just then stopped by to drink some wine at Jingyang Rigdge before going to across the rigdge in drunk. But he was told not to go there after three cups of wine as there was a tiger at the end of the rigdge.But he went off to the rigdge instead of heel advice. As he was reached at the other side and rest down there, the tiger jumped out from nowhere and somehow he managed to kill the beast with his skillful and valiant at the end.The animation was done in 3D while the background was only in 2D with ink brush painting and water colour painting. Later, "The Flight of Lin Chong" was based from one of the main story for Kun opera, 'The Chronicles of the Treasure Sword'. Once was a chief instructor of 800,000-strong imperial guards, Lin Chong was framed by main betrayed Gao Qiu who sent his assassinators to attack him. He took a detour as he able to escape from the guards and was finally forced himself to seek refuge at the Mount Liang to become a bandit.These animate creaters used the 2D hand-drawn animation combining with 3D animation effects for the main story.Adding mono-colour and using simple character model with action sequences gives the highlight of the protagonist's image of a highly-skilled and resolute martial arts exponent.Using traditional ink brush painting for illustration of the snow covered landscape as part of the story. Then the "Concubine Yang's Drunken Stupor" was story about this Concubine named Yang Yuhuan who had a date with Emperor Xuanzhong of Tang Dynasty at the Hundred Flower Pavilion. Hours later however, the eunuch arrived and announced that the Emperpor has departed for Western palace instead. She knew that she had fallen out of the Emperpor's favour and resorted to drink and gazed at blooming flowers for enterainment alone by herself. This piece of the Beijing opera is one of the most famous "drunken" sequence among the rest the operas. Using 3D animation with blending 2D animation and captured interpretation of Concubine Yang's dance movements along with 3D animation background for sets of moods.
After that, the Orchestra and Sand painting was performated on stage as laying out together from one picture from the start to the end.This lady worked out on 'drawing' onto white screen with sand and then later change from one picture to another before coming to end when she drew out a famous of Wall of China. Lastly, was the "Legend of the White Snake" as this story has been pasting for many generations as a old folk's talet. A white snake spirt changed into a beautiful maiden after years of meditation. She later chanced upon a gentle yet heartless scholar, Xu Xian at the lake. Thus they became fall in love within. Then Xu Xian began to mistrust Madam White Snake as he suspected of getting the better of romantic love and the battle between sexes causing to have a tragedy sparked by a patriarchal society's suppression of alternative ideals. In later part of the story, the monk, Fa Hai and Xu Xian merge into a single character.This sand painter used sand to create a story.The character styling is vivid and combining perfectly with the various colours and lighting effects. In perfectible grasp of sands as an artistic medium to bring modelling capabilities of the sand to full potential to create a rich visual experience onto the main screen.
Well I liked the last film which was using sand at most of the time. The rest of the show were very good and the orchestra was doing very well.Without the orchestra, there would be pointless without feeling of the main opera as it was originate done on the theater stage before for many years.

This time with the guest condutor,Choo Hoey who was famous for performating many concert with other orchestra is now becoming retirement. He was in Singapore for two-day concert with the SCO so that was my first time to see him at the concert.

The "Festoon Drum of Fengyang" was rearranged from well known An Hui folk song of the same title which is a kind of folk song, dance and drum.From the local Yangko tune,has a strong accented rhythms. It was original first piece music in Fengyang therefore this song known as "Festoon Drum of Fengyang".
The "Impression of Malaysia" which was about the main colourful customs and culture of Malaysia and the long-house lodging of the yiban tribes.Thus this composer,Qian Zhao Xi,composed this piece based on the Malaysia folk tunes and rhythm. The interesting piece,"The Legend of the Luhuitou" was based about a touch love story when one of the village of Li went down for hunting and saw a golden deer in the forest. He was then bravily chased it along the valley and mountains until reached the southern end of the mountain range. As this hunter was about to release his arrow, the dear suddenly transformed into a beautiful Li maiden. He was astonishment as he dropped his bow and arrow and slowly took his flute out and performed together with her in love song.In later part, they resided at the place and bought barren hills under cultivation.The "Impressions of Russian Folk Song" was based the popular pieces of Russian folk songs which the composer,Kwok Hang Kei learnt from his Russian teacher in his youth days. After almost half of the century, he began to rearrange with some of the songs as the "Impressions of Russian Folk Song":

The "Reverie at the Statue of Sir Stamford Raffles" was based the main history of the Singapore when Sir Stamford Raffles went there for a short stay.As he seemed to bear a witness to the whole history, the people had struggled through many diffcult years and worked very hard to achieve a better standard of living. Thus this statue, is the main testimony to all these developments.
And the last two pieces,"Four Scottish Dances" which was based a inspirey of the Scottish dance and it was first played in BBC Light Music Festival in 1957. And the "Molly on the Shore", one of the composing pieces and the last piece for Percy Grainger which was based from the main song by Charles Stanford, "Temple Hill" and "Molly on the Shore". Althrough he had done his first piece for his mother, Rose as her birthday gift, this song was known for its rhythmic intensity and highly subtle usage of the original themes.Thus it was one of Grainger's signatures, the large number of chromatic lines and high level of veriation in the instrumentation givien "Molly on the Shore" unprecedented energy. The only thing was that why the music played went cut short as I though the orchestra people going to have two more pieces to play. But, I guessed that they had a long played on the first night of two-day concert so on the second night went shorther. That was what I had thinking.
Anyway, maybe next time, I should take a chance to listen in full version of the songs if any.

On 7th Feb,2009(two weeks ago), I went to Esplanade together with my parents to see the Singapore Chinese Orchestra's(SCO) performation(Chinese Opera Meets Animation). This time they were played the music together with the animation that was on the screen. Just before I went for their concert, I haven't see animation with the main orchestra on stage before so this was my first time to see that progamme.Here were the main list for the night's concert:

*NOTE:All the animation were show in flat screen during the concert including of sand painting performation.
All the intro and the interlude were went through well together with the movie screen each time before the next show started.In"The Empty City Strategem", Wei general Sima Yi leads his troops into the streets of the Shu during the period of the Three Kingdoms. Ma Su, part of Zhuge Liang's troops fail to hold the fort. Sima Yi leads his troopss in pursuit and arrives at Xi Cheng. Zhuge Liang opens his gate wide without any troops in sight and calmly plays his 'zither' at the top of the gate tower. Sima Yi suspects this to be an ambush and abandons the attack. This was based on the Beijing Opera with the same name. The main animation was simple and short.Main theme was in plain and quick-tempo with colourfully characteristics in a traditional Chinese ink brush painting.The "Dream in the Sping Chambers" was a story about Mdarm Zhang's dream that she was waiting for her husband to be returned and their intimacy in bed but he was killed during the war thus he didn't made home for her and she became a widow.This work used in 2D and 3D graphics,freeze frames and photographs for portray Beijing opera singing and movement."Wu Song Taming the Tiger" was about main charather named Wu Song who went out from his home to pay a visit his brother.He just then stopped by to drink some wine at Jingyang Rigdge before going to across the rigdge in drunk. But he was told not to go there after three cups of wine as there was a tiger at the end of the rigdge.But he went off to the rigdge instead of heel advice. As he was reached at the other side and rest down there, the tiger jumped out from nowhere and somehow he managed to kill the beast with his skillful and valiant at the end.The animation was done in 3D while the background was only in 2D with ink brush painting and water colour painting. Later, "The Flight of Lin Chong" was based from one of the main story for Kun opera, 'The Chronicles of the Treasure Sword'. Once was a chief instructor of 800,000-strong imperial guards, Lin Chong was framed by main betrayed Gao Qiu who sent his assassinators to attack him. He took a detour as he able to escape from the guards and was finally forced himself to seek refuge at the Mount Liang to become a bandit.These animate creaters used the 2D hand-drawn animation combining with 3D animation effects for the main story.Adding mono-colour and using simple character model with action sequences gives the highlight of the protagonist's image of a highly-skilled and resolute martial arts exponent.Using traditional ink brush painting for illustration of the snow covered landscape as part of the story. Then the "Concubine Yang's Drunken Stupor" was story about this Concubine named Yang Yuhuan who had a date with Emperor Xuanzhong of Tang Dynasty at the Hundred Flower Pavilion. Hours later however, the eunuch arrived and announced that the Emperpor has departed for Western palace instead. She knew that she had fallen out of the Emperpor's favour and resorted to drink and gazed at blooming flowers for enterainment alone by herself. This piece of the Beijing opera is one of the most famous "drunken" sequence among the rest the operas. Using 3D animation with blending 2D animation and captured interpretation of Concubine Yang's dance movements along with 3D animation background for sets of moods.
After that, the Orchestra and Sand painting was performated on stage as laying out together from one picture from the start to the end.This lady worked out on 'drawing' onto white screen with sand and then later change from one picture to another before coming to end when she drew out a famous of Wall of China. Lastly, was the "Legend of the White Snake" as this story has been pasting for many generations as a old folk's talet. A white snake spirt changed into a beautiful maiden after years of meditation. She later chanced upon a gentle yet heartless scholar, Xu Xian at the lake. Thus they became fall in love within. Then Xu Xian began to mistrust Madam White Snake as he suspected of getting the better of romantic love and the battle between sexes causing to have a tragedy sparked by a patriarchal society's suppression of alternative ideals. In later part of the story, the monk, Fa Hai and Xu Xian merge into a single character.This sand painter used sand to create a story.The character styling is vivid and combining perfectly with the various colours and lighting effects. In perfectible grasp of sands as an artistic medium to bring modelling capabilities of the sand to full potential to create a rich visual experience onto the main screen.
Well I liked the last film which was using sand at most of the time. The rest of the show were very good and the orchestra was doing very well.Without the orchestra, there would be pointless without feeling of the main opera as it was originate done on the theater stage before for many years.

On last Saturday(21st of Feb,2009) I went to Concert Hall for the Chinese Orchestra's concert, Folklore and Legends. This time with the guest condutor,Choo Hoey who was famous for performating many concert with other orchestra is now becoming retirement. He was in Singapore for two-day concert with the SCO so that was my first time to see him at the concert.

The "Festoon Drum of Fengyang" was rearranged from well known An Hui folk song of the same title which is a kind of folk song, dance and drum.From the local Yangko tune,has a strong accented rhythms. It was original first piece music in Fengyang therefore this song known as "Festoon Drum of Fengyang".
The "Impression of Malaysia" which was about the main colourful customs and culture of Malaysia and the long-house lodging of the yiban tribes.Thus this composer,Qian Zhao Xi,composed this piece based on the Malaysia folk tunes and rhythm. The interesting piece,"The Legend of the Luhuitou" was based about a touch love story when one of the village of Li went down for hunting and saw a golden deer in the forest. He was then bravily chased it along the valley and mountains until reached the southern end of the mountain range. As this hunter was about to release his arrow, the dear suddenly transformed into a beautiful Li maiden. He was astonishment as he dropped his bow and arrow and slowly took his flute out and performed together with her in love song.In later part, they resided at the place and bought barren hills under cultivation.The "Impressions of Russian Folk Song" was based the popular pieces of Russian folk songs which the composer,Kwok Hang Kei learnt from his Russian teacher in his youth days. After almost half of the century, he began to rearrange with some of the songs as the "Impressions of Russian Folk Song":

The "Reverie at the Statue of Sir Stamford Raffles" was based the main history of the Singapore when Sir Stamford Raffles went there for a short stay.As he seemed to bear a witness to the whole history, the people had struggled through many diffcult years and worked very hard to achieve a better standard of living. Thus this statue, is the main testimony to all these developments.
And the last two pieces,"Four Scottish Dances" which was based a inspirey of the Scottish dance and it was first played in BBC Light Music Festival in 1957. And the "Molly on the Shore", one of the composing pieces and the last piece for Percy Grainger which was based from the main song by Charles Stanford, "Temple Hill" and "Molly on the Shore". Althrough he had done his first piece for his mother, Rose as her birthday gift, this song was known for its rhythmic intensity and highly subtle usage of the original themes.Thus it was one of Grainger's signatures, the large number of chromatic lines and high level of veriation in the instrumentation givien "Molly on the Shore" unprecedented energy. The only thing was that why the music played went cut short as I though the orchestra people going to have two more pieces to play. But, I guessed that they had a long played on the first night of two-day concert so on the second night went shorther. That was what I had thinking.
Anyway, maybe next time, I should take a chance to listen in full version of the songs if any.

Weid thing happening on GE.....
Just happen recently..... someone(must be one of those male players) just PM to me with this messing: "Hello Sir, may I ask U, sir".... And then I just came to ask myself: "What the...!? Why someone call me Sir?? I have no idea about who called me until he asked me some thing this: "Do U have mega stones sir?" That was what he wanted to ask. But the only thing was this, I'm a guy or what?? PLUS.... I'm happened to be female player here who have be playing game for almost two years and now call me SIR?! Ai, ai, ai...... AIYO!! How come happen to be me!? Only thing I relased something, my family name is called Kenjishine and I through it was good idea and simple at least it's easy to remember after all. Expect that some male players through I was a guy that's because Kenji happens to be a guys' name in Japanese. See.... I guess that these guys must have though by fishing thinking if I'm happened to play game at cyber cafe. Geez.... this had been common with me as I got used to it until now.. Why sir you may ask? Well.... who ask someone that I'm a guy. Oh well, it's just once out of the blue moon. Ha ha ha ha.... Wait till the GE girls willing to see this picture that I had took photo last week. X)

SCO:The Butterfly Lovers Legacy
Last month (29/11/08) I was out with my parents for the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) concert, The Butterfly Lovers Legacy at the Singapore Conference Hall. Although I never gone down on Friday which was on 28 of Nov, never mind about the first list of song for Friday's concert anyway it was almost the same songs for both days so it didn't really matters.
Here some of the list for the night's performation:

So far, I haven't much to say about them but the most wield song item for the concert was the "Bayang for Wayang Kulit and Chinese Orchestra". And why was that so? Well let's put this way, this was not just mean for orchestra alone but it was combine together with the Malay Wayang Kulit.
The main thing about this song was that Bayang has its own story. It told a story about the prince of the Siu Sia Mendara Pura Kingdom who went to the Wak Tujuh Kedi Beremas together with his brother for study under their master, Tok Maharisi Mata Api. At the same time, a princess of the another kingdom who was engaged to the son of Ratu Pacar went to the same school for study under the same master. Both prince and princess met each other during their study. It was only then when everyone else finished their studies, she didn't went back her own kingdom. Instead, she wanted to follow the prince to his kingdom. That cause both kingdoms to begain to war and when the Pacar Baha Kingdom nearly defeated by prince's kingdom, Tok Maharisi Mata Api appeared and requested that both kingdoms to negotiate for a solution. After the negotiations, prince agreed to return the princess to the Ratu Pacar Alam, son of the Ratu Pacar Baha. But then.... This was what I know about expect that this was way abit of mess for one thing but this music was not so bad at all for this local composer.
What are the most interesting songs are the "Dream of the Red Suite" and the "Butterfly Lovers". "Butterfly Lovers" for one main reason was supposed to be very famous for this piece so I guess that everyone like this music anyway and so am I, for love this piece. Wherelse this "Dream of the Red Suite" was based arranged from the songs and interudes of the famous television serial, 'Dream of the Red Chamber'. Very interesting, wasn't it?
Well that's all I had right now. Next time, I would write down again very soon. Cheers! XP

SCO: Zheng Elegance and SCO:Music of No Boundaries
Last two weeks ago, my mum asked me whether I would like to go for the music concert on two different dates. At my first though was went 'Hmmm.....' as I though I was really interesting to join in with my dad for the evening concert since she not always so keen to see the concert very often. Then she past two tickets to me and asked me to go concert with my older sister, Esther. I was wondering about it and asked her: "Uh.... mum, then what about you and dad? Aren't you guys going for the night concert?" That when mum told me about their reason: they had invitation cards from someone for the wedding dinner on the actually day for the concert!! And not one but two different wedding dinners on the same dates which fell on 13 of Sept and 27 of Sept....The same date that they supposed to go for the concert so that was why we both of us as the sisters had to go and see the music concert..... ^_^;
On last Saturday(13/9/08) I was having review for the Math subject due to the porpoised date so I went back to school in the afternoon. After that, I went back home and changed out for the concert before going out with sister. At that point of time, we were in a hurry for it as it was started at 8:00 PM shape so we took the taxi instead. After a long trip through the expressway road as it was full with heavy traffic, we manged to reach the Conference Hall in time. Although it was just few minutes before started the programme, I went to the counter at level 3 to get the programme booklet. But..... uh..... I end up bought two instead of one because there was a box for others to drop money into when bought the booklet and nobody had the small change for me as I had only two dollar note with me so I dropped in the note and took two booklets with me. Geez.... sister must had mad at me for buying two booklets. ^^;;
For the concert, Zheng Elegance which was performed in set of 'zheng' series together with the Chinese Orchestra group. The main conductor guest was Quek Ling Kiong for the concert performation. Here are the list for the item songs

'The Soul of Mount Tai' was just the piece of sound and poem music about the mount in part of China.This composer was impress about the mount during the visit trip.The 'Butterfly Dream' was based on an essay from 'On Equality of Things' by Zhuang Zi which was mixed of emotion of dreams through fanesty of the illsuiltion.The 'Melodies of Hanjiang' was the origin music composed of 'Han Jiang' and 'Narrative Song' thus it had named for the both music. The most favour which I liked so far were 'The Overlord-Xiang Yu', 'Mooring at Night by Maple Bridge' which based on the Kun opeara and the origin composed piece by China composer, Xu Jian Qiang's 'Wind of Falling Plum Blossom'. 'The Overlord-Xiang Yu', was composed about late army's leader, Xiang Yu. The 'Wind of Falling Plum Blossom' was one of master Xu Jian Qiang's work and it was based the Zhejiang folk opera 'Little Red Plum Blossom' which the story was about the Chinese ancient lady's longings for her lover who left in a faraway distance in a deep emotion of feelings and moods. After the concert, my sister asked me to call my parents to pick up us as we not had our dinner yet.
On the following week which was on 27/9/08, Saturday, we went out early for the concert this time, Music of No Boundaries. But.... the only problem was that we had to walk to the Conference Hall from the MRT station once we arrived by train. Because, there was happening on F1 race track that blocked some of the road junction so we had to find way to get there. When we finally reached the Conference Hall, we had to get into the concert hall before the performation started soon. Here were the items for the performation:
1)The Worship
2)Erhu Rhapsody No.4*
3)The Carefree Journey*
4)The First North West Suit
-3rd movement:Thinking of my Dearest
-4th movement:The Stone Slab Waist Drum
*Note:These were composed by the music conductor, Kuan Nai Chung
Althrough the concert was wonderful at that evening as the music was really great, at least some of the pieces were very long of playing so I guess I have to make this long story into short- 'Erhu Rhapsody No.4' and 'The Carefree Journey' were the longest pieces I ever heard before, yet I almost fell asleep during the concert. 'Erhu Rhapsody No.4' was base historical story,"Wei Ji Returns Han" which was story about a lady that filled with misfortune. It was played solo on erhu that was why this piece was so long as this contained four movements, Prelude,Chaos of War, Hatred and Love and lastly, Emotion and Responsibility.
'The Carefree Journey', was also a long play but at least had three movements- Mountains, Clouds and Market in the Mountain Village. This piece was recomposed about the wonderful place in the universal which date back as many as two thousand years ago.'The First North West Suite' has the four movement parts in this piece. However, for the night concert, they played at least the last two movements, Thinking of my Dearest and The Stone Slab Waist Drum. The most interesting pieces were 'The Worship', 'The Carefree Journey' and 'The North West Suite' Why? Well, worthy to listen them after all. Espleasing one of the movement pieces from 'The North West Suite'. 'The Worship' was the music piece of so called ceremony of worship in the countryside. During the inter-break, both of us had our sandwhichs with us for dinner. It was just homemake sandwhichs. And we had to eat at outside from the concert hall.
Well, after the performation concert, my older sister loves some of music so much, she asked dad about the CD of orchestra so that she can burn out into MP3 songs indeed. Ha ha ha ha.... glad that she's not so tried about the music after all. X>

Japanese Summer Festivest 2008
Last month on August (23/8/08) was the Japanese Association of Singapore(JAS) very own Summer Festivest. Each every year during the summer, the festivest starts at around 5~6 o'clock in the evening(sunset time). This last for few hours in the evening till 10~11 PM sharp at most. Sometimes, 9:30 PM is the latest to close the festivest. And this usually find in Japan during the summer. The only reason for holding this festivest is not only aim to the Japanese people who work and live in Singapore, is also to share with other Singaporeans enjoying the festivest.
Last year, I went out with one of my sisters and her friend to the Japanese school where the main festivest was held. But this year, I went alone to meet one of the friends of my sister at the school because my older sister had the birthday party to attend while my younger sister is now at the oversea for language study. Never mind about that, let's move on.
As I reached around 5 minutes before 5PM, there were alot of people quening from one point to the end of the line. As I had no ticket with me, so I joined the quene line. If I had that early, I would problemy get into the school. But, after waited for few mintures, the quene became smaller as many people went in after buying tickets so fast. OK, that wasn't bad at all. But..... the wost one comes when I joined in the line for 'Yukata' outfit!! EEK! Soooo...... many girls queuing up for the loan of 'Yukata'(more than the guys' quene, and just got their own outfit already), I just nearly drop dead. Luckily for me I had my own 'Yukata' as my birthday present early so I couldn't worry about loaning one. After waited for two hours, finally I got in for the change. By the time I got done with outfit it was around 7 plus in the evening. That was nothing time to lose so I hanged around for items, food and the games to play. I played the fishing net to catch the ball.Fishing net is one of the games feature for the Summer festivest in Japan in order to catch as many fish as you can. Only after you caught the fish into the bowl, you are allowed to bring fishes home. But in this case, I brought that mini ball back home. Following that, I played bowling pin and throw ball hold game. Just before that, I bought the Japanese chicken with rice for my dinner and a pair of cloak shoes. Later, I played the Yoyo ball(which is supposed to be diffencult to catch by just using a paper string that tied around the hook and hooking into the loop of stinges of one of the yoyos' that look like the balloon to you....) and I dropped off mine hook because of sudden break from the stinge. Well, in the end, I took yoyo back home. Then once more, I did try on my luck to play the bowling again. Still I got nothing prize for winning expect for mini gifts. During the festivest, there was raining going on that evening so the everyone on the filed had to move the indoor for the concert. Although that was nothing much for me to see, so I went round again and bought a cup of warm coffee(well I don't drink this much offen) and a stick of ice-cream(which I choosed green tea as my favour one). Later that, I met the good friend of one of my sisters with two other girls who were having mini picnic there on the dry spot so I joined them for some chit-chat. Just then, I spot the group of band that I never saw before my eyes. Although I haven't watch the band competition before so I went up to one of the band members which was their lead singer just for a small. I mean a SMALL talk. After that we had a group photo together with their friend within the background of the filed. Right after 9:30 PM, it was time for me to go home. Said goodbye to them and left for Expos by shutter bus to take MRT train which took me to the Changie Airport. I went back home in 'Yukata' outfit all the way home unlike last year(because I had to loaned that outfit for the festivest so in the end, I had to return it back before I went home)
That was fun through all festivest but only a mirror problem about the quene.... next year onwards that will be same festivest right same place at the same time but I not too sure if the outdoor stage will be there all because the bad weather these days. Hopefully, there will be more excite things coming ahead next year. ^^

But this year, I went alone to meet one of the friends of my sister at the school because my older sister had the birthday party to attend while my younger sister is now at the oversea for language study. Never mind about that, let's move on.
As I reached around 5 minutes before 5PM, there were alot of people quening from one point to the end of the line. As I had no ticket with me, so I joined the quene line. If I had that early, I would problemy get into the school. But, after waited for few mintures, the quene became smaller as many people went in after buying tickets so fast. OK, that wasn't bad at all. But..... the wost one comes when I joined in the line for 'Yukata' outfit!! EEK! Soooo...... many girls queuing up for the loan of 'Yukata'(more than the guys' quene, and just got their own outfit already), I just nearly drop dead. Luckily for me I had my own 'Yukata' as my birthday present early so I couldn't worry about loaning one. After waited for two hours, finally I got in for the change. By the time I got done with outfit it was around 7 plus in the evening. That was nothing time to lose so I hanged around for items, food and the games to play. Promotion tour for movie:12 Lotus
Yesterday (2/8/08), I just went to the Hougang Mall after the music lesson from Commutity Centre at Ang Mo Kio around 3PM plus before 4 o'clock as I went for window shopping as usually where the event took place. I saw some people garthered around the stage as most of their children were on stage to do some wigger fun with the adult who was leaded for the progamme. Just after few mintures later, just as I went down to the first floor, more people garthered around stage soon once the music started to play. I wasn't too sure what they were doing for so I joined them just to see in cursion.
It was the promotion tour for up coming the local movie, 12 Lotus which is story about a singer that she had troublem with other men who were used her and abused her. That was when this song was came about known as 12 Lotus in Hokkien theme. The main director by Royston Tan who also directed for the another movie 881.
As I was standing down there, some people who went there were waited for one hour while others were waited up two two hours!! Almaka!! I wondered why they had to wait so long when the progamme started at 4PM. OK, at least the progamme went over short by half an hour. (Because I just looked at time from my mobie phone.) Just after waiting for so long, the DJ from YES! 93.3FM came on stage to start the show. Beside that, that was the number of cast for the movie also came up on stage for the audition. There were including young actors and some other actors from 881 went on stage to say hello to everyone. That was such actor who used to work with TV station for long time also went on stage too for being cast as the father of the younger main chartcher. And this was for his first time to work with director for the movie.
Just let me tell you honstily was that, I doubt he knew about the Hokkien songs before. Well, too bad, he was told that he had to sing in fornt of auditours out there. Ever the host cheered him on just gave him a good shot. Eh... I was not too sure about that but to make long story a short, he did went, well, pretty OK. He must had red blushing for sure after short while.
There was also giveaway posters to anyone by simplying answar question from each of the actors of cast. Oh dear, I doubt I was able to answar at the first round. Eh.... ever thought I'm Chinese but somehow I'm quite bad in Chinese speaking and writing if you ASK me.... ><;
There were short performation by two of the well known singers (which one of them was the contester for the Superstar Project). They were very good on stage. Ha ha, I guess so.
Just nice after second performation, the three main cast were on stage just to giveaway poster again after the short interview with them. This time, never mind, I must as well raised up instead just give myself a try. Then, I got picked from one of the cast! Well, I had to answer simple question(when is actually open date for movie?) And I got the poster at last(anyway, that question was seem to be easy). Just before the closing programme, the actors had this item to sing in Hokkien song just for everyone. That was really good thing about the gatei as the Hungry Ghost Festival already started until later in Sept.
Once after that, I went home by bus along with my poster. Still, I believe that the movie will be able make it once it's open at cinema on the first day. ^^V

SCO: The Legend of Silk and Bamboo
Last Saturday night (26/7/08), I went to Singapore Conference Hall with my parents for Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) concert. The concert was great and somehow I found that the music performation was seem quite good overrode. The both soloists, Yan Jia Min (erhu) and Zhang Wei Liang (dizi) were really good that night. Although the concert held for two days, we went there on the second day of concert as my father bought the one year ticket packet indeed. (I wonder why he didn't bought two day ticket concert instead of one day concert?)

The "Virtuos Heart" is the literally name known as "Xinxian" in Chinese. And "xian" is also last word of late Yeo Puay Hian's name as "Yang Pei Xian" in Chinese. Thus, it was honor to compose this piece as his most memorable of time with the orchestra before he went passed away."Island of Fantasy" was the composed of fantasise about Singapore, one of the well known country in Southeast Asia since the 3rd century. This was composed into three movement; The Sea, Fusion, and Soaring. Though the music background was added by electronic music for the sound effert, music was very good for combaim the elecrtonic music."Ancient Echoes" was created from the elements of traditional folk turnes and classic work from the 20th century. This piece had three part for significance and rich colours of traditional and contemporary Chinese cultures; In Search of The Sound, An Allusion and The Aura. While these three parts are played in full, the last two parts, An Allusion and The Aura, were the among parts for shorten piece in abbeviated version. Yet it was work with dizi, xiao and xun altogether. The "Traces V" was odd piece of music which was commisioned by National Chinese Orchestra of Taiwan and periered by Miss Yan Jie Min, Qu Chunquan, the conductor and the Taiwan of orchestra. The music was composed about the Chinese calligraphy, which is among of Chinese artwork and the Chinese words were created by sound of music. The main erhu acts as the bush while the whole of orchestra act as the rice paper. Which was why, I said this piece was odd one....0*0; The "Carmen Fantasy" known as "Pablo de Sarasate" was well composed piece since in 1883 based on the Bizet's opera Carmen. The originated piece was meant for violin, some parts of this piece seem difficult for the erhu player so it was adapted into erhu version for the difficult level ease.
What I liked the most were the "Virtous Heart", "Island of Fantasy", "Ancient Echoes" and the last piece just before went for on called. The on called piece was the solo erhu piece which seem not bad one but I think the mircophone didn't pick up the sound clearly. Oh well, maybe next time the people in change for stage should test every mircophone before event concert start..... ^^;;

SYCO Aunnal Concert 2008
Last Sunday(7/6/08), my parents and myself went to the Singapore Conferrce Hall for the Chinese orchestra concert. This time both Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra(SYCO) and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra(SCO) were playing number of songs on the list for this year's concert.Every year, there will be involvement between both groups to play centian kind of music.In first round, the youth orchestra are played the first pieces of music following then the main orchestra's turn for few pieces before they are joined in by some members of the youth orchestra for last piece.
Speaking about youth orchestra, it is not easy for some youth to be chose for the member of the orchestra. It must be at least high standard for the quarreller for the orchestra. Same goes for Chinese orchestra. That was what my mom told me after the concert as I'm still learning the Erhu as my main instalment.
As for this year concert, here were some of the songs on that evening:

The General's Command was written in many years ago before in was discovered in 1818. Gu Guan Ren was rewritten for the main orchestra which were played nowadays. The piece was supposed play on pipa were high power and great climatic presentation of the first melodic and last expressive of great flow of the composition. The Potrait of Labouring at Salt Pond was the inspired about the labouring in early years.Bumper Harvest Worship was based on the worship fields on the harvest day in Taiwan. The great combination orchestras was Gada Meilin Symphonic Poem which was written based on true story of the battlefield in Northern part of China during the 20th century. The late hero of Mongolians was Gada Meilin who was later framed and died in a heroic death. The most interesting pieces were Agony in Lin'an and In search of the Roots of the Ancient Pagoda Tree. Agony in Lin'an was song about the Yue Fei, the hero who was framed by the trencherous court offcial and sent prison in Lin'an City during the Song dynasty. He was feeling about the battle life, longing for his family including his indignation towards the enemies before his death sentenced. Another piece, In Search of the Roots of the Ancient Pagoda Tree was about a song of the folk tune. The folks were saying: "Where are my ancestors? Oh large Pagoda Tree of Shsnxi caverns..." That was where their ancetors' spitirs lived those trees near away their loving hometown.
I was enjoyed myself only where it comes about those kids, well, they overenjoy and happy enough to see their favour music stars on stage( Chang Le and Yvonne Tay as soloists). Ha ha... no wonder that was quite some noise during the concert ever where that was coming about the youth orchestra... ^^;

New website, new account, new nice picture!
Just recently for weeks, I just started to make my own account for myself by created one charther with the set of clothing to choese from. Then, I had to key in my ID and my password before created the new profile. That was nice enough. And what is most interested that you can chat with other people from USA, UK and other countries as well. But I do see rarlty people from Singapore. Maybe they perfer to find better one by playing online games these days. My favour part is that I can play the mini games in order to earn some money points! Oh yeah, so I don't need to worry about paying Zcard for points(paying through online, I'm not willing to do that plus that are cards availble only in USA). On the other hand, I can only earn at lesat 300 points as the max per day. That is why I had to earn little bit more to topup more points. The most favour that I had is that I can create a room for myself so that I can display what I want to and ever to let anyone to come to my room! Hee hee!! >_

SCO: Music Ties
On last Sunday night(25/5/08), my parents and myself went for Singapore Chinese Orchestra(SCO) concert at Singapore Conference Hall. Although it was Sunday, this concert was only one night stands performation unlikly the one that held on Friday and Saturday events or the weekend concert.Anyway,the title for the concert was Music Ties which were be performed by three family members of the musical, Wong On-yuen,(gahu) Wong Sun Tat(younger Wong who plays the erhu) and Yu Jia(pipa). And the concert was very good this time and enjoyed the music pieces during the concert.
Here were the number of songs that they had played during the concert:

The Mt Kinabalu was written by Malaysian composer, Simon Kong as he went to trip to the country side of Indionaese. And he found out that many tibets were worship to the Mt Kinabalu as their god. Something must be interesting. And the song? I find that it was not bad for this song as it comes altogether for the sounds of the mountie, the nature and the people.The Lquidmanada was the song about the dunker man with his own wine. And the music was fine with me ever thought it supposed to be played on one person.The Spring and Autumn which was written back in 1994 and it's piece played by the pipa soloist within the orchestra. But what I liked the most was the Guangdong Music Concerto which it had combine on both folk songs and opera songs in Cantonese. And it was very nice piece I ever heard as I used to hear one of the Cantonese songs before. Very familiar with some of these songs. And that was a good night performation.
By the way, both Wong On-yuen and Sun Tat are the father and son musical players on erhu while Yu Jia is the daughter-in-law of the older Wong.(which I was asking to myself, is she married to younger Wong?)oo? Oh well..... perhaps that I better not dare to ask such thing after all. ^^;;

Family outing: Garden's Park
Since the last time I posted this blog, I quite long time haven't type in any post yet as I was away from computer for weeks. Oh well, never mind about it.
During last two weeks(between April and May), I went out with my family for the visiting to nature resort. As since Singapore is known for its own garden city, there are quite numbers of parks and nature resorts in this country. There are more new nature parks within years these days just for snake for other young people in the future.
On last Sunday(27/4/08) my family and myself went to the nature resort for the nature walk then following the week, we went to the Singapore Boton Garden on Labour Day(1/5/08) for flowering view.
When we went to the nature resort on Sunday afternoon, there were quite number of visitors. As we walked to the first route to the circle bright, there were alot of trees everywhere and only one or two crabs at the mud area. The place we went to were the mango swarm. After we return the main entrance, my parents wanted to have a break so my older sister and I went to the other route road for a sight seeing. We had been walked around not too long as we were sight seeing for awhile. Just before we headed back, mum just called us and said that we had to go back to the main entrance as she wanted to go back soon. Eh...... I doubt that we had to take for quite some how before we finally returned to the same spot when we came out from.
On Labour Day, most of family of four went to the Boton Garden for the flower garden park visit. And it usual full with different kinds of orchids besides other plants. Though something else must be interesting...... you know why is that? Because there are some of new areas for many visitors to see new things. Well, like what? There is one area plantional, where these special plants are come from pineapple family trees. Hey, did you say pineapple plants? Oh yeah, there is such plant as they behaved same way as the pineapple plant on its own. There was a Cool House where you can see alot of cooling plants. Just after walk, we went to the orchids house where there were alot of names of VIP orchids after some of fame and known well people. Once we went to the exter to the park, both of us(me and my sister) went to food stall to buy the ice-cream. But..... not all the ice-cream were hard enough though as I found that it was too soft and easily to melt when I ate ice-cream alone. Later that, went home right before sunset.
I guessed that I had spent time away from the computer though..... But somehow, sometimes I went to use just once. Hmmmm....... really I must have gone all somehow, quite long. As these days I played PSP game as my old MP3 player was not running well with my computer progamme( yeah it is Window Vista all right.....) But..... lucky for me, I bought new MP4 player this time and it was the second hand product. Looked as good as brand new player. Ha ha..... never mind, I will typing down one of these days really soon.^^V
During last two weeks(between April and May), I went out with my family for the visiting to nature resort. As since Singapore is known for its own garden city, there are quite numbers of parks and nature resorts in this country. There are more new nature parks within years these days just for snake for other young people in the future.
On last Sunday(27/4/08) my family and myself went to the nature resort for the nature walk then following the week, we went to the Singapore Boton Garden on Labour Day(1/5/08) for flowering view.
When we went to the nature resort on Sunday afternoon, there were quite number of visitors. As we walked to the first route to the circle bright, there were alot of trees everywhere and only one or two crabs at the mud area. The place we went to were the mango swarm. After we return the main entrance, my parents wanted to have a break so my older sister and I went to the other route road for a sight seeing. We had been walked around not too long as we were sight seeing for awhile. Just before we headed back, mum just called us and said that we had to go back to the main entrance as she wanted to go back soon. Eh...... I doubt that we had to take for quite some how before we finally returned to the same spot when we came out from.

Bad incident of breaking down bus.....
Last week on Wednesday night(16/4/08), I was headed back home by bus after having night class. Through this bus was direct bus to Sengkang area where I stay, so that I had not to change another bus after that. But.... that was when after the next bus-stop, it suddenly went broke down! That was really bad. At first the bus driver tried to start the engined of the bus at least twice. After that, he tried to call opearter through his radio walking talk. Within few mintures, not more than 30 mintures later the driver ordered every passagers for alightment to take next bus as it was not working well. Quite surprised to some people, they had to take the next bus alright.
Since I came this unlucky incident of broken down bus twice before hand and now this was my third time for this breaking down bus. So I had to wait for another bus as usuall untill the bus arrived later. Next time, if you are in bus and then all sudden come in breaking down at this point, man you are suring be the next guy to be stuck right in the bus because of this problem. Better prepar if you not aware about this happen.....><*
PS:I was quite mad at point of time but at least I still forgiven this bus driver after all as he had been trying out to fix the bus.

SCO: Flavours of Scotland-Go Celtic
Last Saturday night(29/3/08) my parents and myself went to the Singapore Conference Hall for the Singapore Chinese Orchestra(SCO). And their main theme was base on the music of the Scotland folksongs.
Although the main sponsor were by offical group people for the event for every concert, there was another group who were sponsred for this event was by British Council. And the main guest proformers were from Scotland; Alistair Anderson and Chris Stout. Both were the only musicals soloists.
There were number of songs to be play for the concert. Here the list of the songs:

The first piece of music was very nice as the pipes' sounds were very gracefully one. "The Molly on the Shore" was kind of an American song to me but the music was a good piece almost the same as the Western orchestra, but quite very difference as this music was played on Chinese verison instead. "Look East" was the solo group played together with Alistair who wrote this compose and the soloist with his concertiana(something like a paper lantern used during moonlight festives but, it is a instrument) and music, well..... was not bad with this piece. Quite suitable for small number of the musical group.What I liked the best was "Fiddlers Free" and "Songs of the North". The Fiddler comes from the tune of the violin version music. And it plays full of freewill with the fiddler as they said goes; 'violin plays music while fiddler dancing' that's what you called the"Fiddlers Free". And it was very good music. The soloist, Chist Stout who was main violin player was very good at this piece.The "Song of the North" was played during the 18th century when a group of Chinese musical went to Europe to proform there together with the other western people. It was wonderfull music as these pieces of music were switching one piece to another then came back to the first piece. Talking about "My Love is Like a Red Red Rose" used to play by the guitar which was taken over by a group of 'ruan' as they sound kind of very beautifull and had almost same sound as guitar too. The solo violin was played melody well. Kind liked singing of stings.
So far, was that I almost fallen asleep during the time of concert and that was the only one of the music that I nearly...... fell asleep and that was before the last music of proforme item. HA HA HA.... don't blame on me though as sometimes music could turn me off into the sleep. That's one reason should know about it. By right, I shouldn't do that during the concert. >0
Next round for coming concert, I try not to sleep just in case. Hee hee....!! @_@

Hard time for GEO textbook
Since three weeks ago just started the night classes at the prviate school as I'm doing the N level examtion this year, all the things seem ready including pencilbox and sheets of papers to be prepare but.... I only bought the number of textbooks for some of the subjusts as I wasn't for sure wherther I needed them or to get another books.
On the first week of four-night study couse was Geographt lesson which held every Tuesday night.This GEO lessons were cover basing on two topices, Phy GEO and Human GEO. But the only problem was that one of my textbook didn't had all topices that covered on the Human GEO which were more on human popultion and settingment. I got almost wrong one instead.... ><; But still I had to keep another book(which I just bought two books, Sec 3 and Sec 4 for N-level) because there still had other Human GEO topice that cover for N and O level. OK, never mind about that but I had to find one that contian the base of Human GEO.
So on centre days, I went to the bookstore to look for the Human GEO textbook. But...... not all GEO subject books are selling these days as some of the topices already change for the secondly and JC school. And my older sister had to find one book for me from the Base Pase as there alot of old books for sale. Once on reture, I only recived this textbook that had not covered at all as it was inter version not the pure version.(pure version that contian only first base of Phy and Human GEO.) Almaka!! Now I had to change book. But think again, not easy to find one these days as some the publishtion centres don't produce such old and good books these days. So yeah it's quite sad not much books to buy one only some other bookstores still have selled the old publishition ones. Well, must be though.
Next day or another day before coming for the Human topice(I still now studying the Phy topice one first) I will find the book somewhere before someone else may want to steal away from bookshelts I better get one soon......^^;;

IT Fair at Sunect City
Last week, I went out together with my family to Suncet City for the IT Fair. Well.... not one but two visting days for the IT Fair. Althrough the fair ran on 6th of March to 9th of March(Thursday to Sunday), there were alot of people crowned around like canned fish at the fair!!
There were alot of things to see and try some stuffs. And the reason that I went with my sisters and my mom was to replace the old PC as it was crashed and broken down in the sudden. On the another hand however was that one of my sisters wanted to buy a new laptop as her old one about to full of speace. And older sister, well she wanted to get the Ipod for her MP3 music.
On last Friday, my sisters and myself went there to look for the computer. Since now all PCs are gone together with the LCD screens, so looks like we had to buy one for the table space.^_^ Besides that, we also went around the fair and looked the gadgets from one booth to the another, and then finally we found what we wanted for ourselves. But we had to go back again to buy the items that we needed.
On the next evening(Saturday), my sisters just went there earily and mom and I went to the fair later that to buy the PC for our home use. Just as we went to the fair, the crowned were too many inside and we had to wait at outside for others to come. Just nice, they came in together with a friend of my younger sister who is known well for the computer stuff. First, we went to buy the PC first, while my younger sister went to buy the laptop from another booth. My older sister just went to Apple Com booth for her Ipod after mom just paid the bill with her created card.(sorry I not sure if I spell off corrcetly) But, one problem was that we haven't collcet our PC yet as the screens hadn't came in just then. AND...... the vounder hadn't handled out to us too. Well we had to wait at outside again as there were too many people in there. So it was my older sister's turn to collect them indeed.0_0;;
After the buying stuffs from IT fair, dad came in to pick up us out and then we went to the noodle shop for our dinner together with bubby friend of younger sister's.
After all, now I got my new PC at home, I got some troblem to doing the game istalltions but still they run well after all. Never mind about this computer. What was worst happen however, of couse not at IT fair anyway, but.... I got myself knocked my head against the top of the door van after the night meal........ OUCH!------ That was painful enough!! >^<**

SCO: Classics Kaleidoscope
Last Saturday night(1/3/2008) was the music concert performed by Singapore Chinese Orchestra(SCO) at the Singapore Conference Hall. The guest performers were Mr Piao Dong Sheng(conductor), Wang Ya Na(singer soloist), Han Ying(soprano lead), Hwa Chong Voice and Hwa Chong Institution(Female choru group) and other musical solo preformers from the SCO. The concert started at 8PM sharp.
Well, I was there with my parents that night. The progamme for that everning on that day:
1)Celebration Overture for Chinese Orchestra
2)Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night
3)Aspiration of the Honghu
4)The Legend of Shadi'er
5)Victorous Celebrations
6)Opera Kaleidoscope
7)Unforgettable Water Splashing Festival
The "Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night" was usually play on the pipa so that one was very nice peacefull piece. "Aspiration of the Honghu" was composed base on the lyrics of the song about the heroic spirit of the Honghu people. "The Legend of Shadi'er" was one of the earily pieces of China's music. Through Shadi'er was excellent composer and a singer, he used his art as a weapon against the Qing government during time of Qing Dynasty. Thus he was a hero of the Uyhur tribe in Xinjiang Province. Due the popularity in Xinjiang, the Qing government were in very bad fear causing Shadi'er's life to be ended. But the song of Xinjiang folk remainded ever nowadays as the song continued from time to time. The "Opera Kaleidoscope" was some kind of the music for the opera performa which was very different from the other opera music that recreative form for the music piece. It usually played a special insutment called jinghu as it has a soul for the Jing opera, one of the kinds of opera ever for the movie too. Besides that was jing erhu which was also had a same ture as the jinghu but it was longer than another. Through they suited for soulfull of the Jing opera, they were smallest among the Erhu family too. "Victorous Celebrations" was played on the suono due the insiprtion of the Northeastern of China's folks. And lastly, the "Unforgettable Water Splashing Festival" was base on Chinese own water festival after the Qingming Festival in Yunnan region of China. And it usually held once every year.

But what most interesting during the concert was the jinghu and jing erhu instead. I wonder how the caftsmen did making the small erhu before hand. Funny isn't it?

i-Gap Closing cermormey and Chairty Dinner at tample hall
Yesterday(16/2/2008) I was out there for whole day as I got activity things to do. I supposed to do volunteer not at one place but both events at the same day. One in the morning to afternoon then later I have be next place untill later at night. THAT WAS WHOLE DAY!!! ><;; That morning, I was at my father's shop to help out to open the shop as one of workers was on the hoilday and another went quit..... -~-; After opening the shop, I later went to North Bright road by bus as I douded I could be make it on time from North Seragoon road. But.... it took 40 mintures to travel there which was this: I WAS LATE!! Almamk!! >.<>_<; Right before the progamme about to start, we had to garther around with them together with the students who were there for the volunteer. Then, it was started the show for the closing cermonery hosted by the MCs (sorry... I don't know what is stand for.....) who were from the members of the i-Gap. During the concert, not only that we had our own lunch together with the elderly, we also had games and some lucky draw too. Besides us, there was the VIP people from MP states and including Guest of Houner, mayor of the North Brigh road. They were there for awhile almost about 2 hours before they left the event. And not only that sing songs and games we had enjoyed ourselves as well the elderly too, but we also supriesed had the reware cermomery for both elderly and young volunteers. We also watched the vidoe clips. It was speacial moment that we would never forget. HA HA HA...... anyway, that was great to enjoy but quite sad to miss the elderly at Peace Connet. Never mind, next activtie would be held else where so I look forware to see other group of elderly people soon. Meanwhile, my friend who is one of the i-Gap group brought me along to the tample area at the Bishan road to down street. Hmmm..... never come across of the tample before but it was bigger place than the one just next to the another tample. And as we went to the second level of the tample, there were alot of volunteers whom I haven't met them before. OK..... That's make me quite the interestly..... but first we supposed to wear the red T-shirts. Well, I end up of wearing the XL shirt as many sizes of shirts were already gave out after that. For my case, I usually wearing that M or L size just for my comfort but since many people took all the sizes only left with XL so I guessed I took one and wear it indeed. Then, we were doing the rehasise, some pratice to carry the plante and standing the place in order the table number. By the way, this was same as the lunch party the only thing was that we only allowed to stand next to the tables which were sitied by the elderly and disable people. As time pass 4PM, we went to the canteen for our earily dinner as we had to serve them later that night. The dinner evernt started only at 6PM plus so we had to be back again by 5:30PM. Which was some others were quite late as they hadn't finish their meal yet.Just then, the elderly and disable people from home as well the other guests were came in on time for the chairty dinner. Then, we were supposed to chit chat them as well to others who sat next to neighbour table indeed. The concert later started at 6:30PM and we had some VIP people came in during the concert.Along them, there was guest of houner who was with his wife that night. Then, the cermormey praying being after the first few items for the progamme. Then, during the time, we were getting ready to serve the plant of Chinese New Year dish called 'Yen Long' and this plant was rather quite heavy for me through. And took a long time of waiting for the next round to serve the dish to the table each. That including of the speak that was quite a long time. These guys shouldn't call us out for the dish that earily. That was tried for my hands alright. -_-; Finally, we were served the guests and later helped up some other elderly and disable people to toes around the 'Yen Long'. Then, it was later dinner concert for everyone of them including the guests who were invited for their kindness support.
There was also givingway some 'Hao Bao' and sweets to each of the elderly and the disable ones. It was special kind of moment that some others didn't have it before as they had been living alone or with caretaker for from hand to mouth all these days. Quite sad wasn't it? But I sure that there are others who will helping hand in someways on other days.
Just before end of the concert, most of VIP people including guest of houner were gone home.The rest of other guests and other needly people were later went home after the concert was over. Only us as the volunteers, well we had to clean up the mass untill around 10PM plus I guess...... ><;; So I end up went home late with my friend from the tample after the praying and I just went asleep at midnight. Uh........ just for that I slept for almost 6 hours after long hard work and worn up of my legs. I did taken a warm shower
before bedtime. Sleeply head me.... HA HA HA!!!

But I sure that there are others who will helping hand in someways on other days.
Just before end of the concert, most of VIP people including guest of houner were gone home.The rest of other guests and other needly people were later went home after the concert was over. Only us as the volunteers, well we had to clean up the mass untill around 10PM plus I guess...... ><;; So I end up went home late with my friend from the tample after the praying and I just went asleep at midnight. Uh........ just for that I slept for almost 6 hours after long hard work and worn up of my legs. I did taken a warm shower
before bedtime. Sleeply head me.... HA HA HA!!!
Note: I just got awared for the most activite volunteer of the year. Cheers!!
